0.9.7 Available

QLab development has been clipping along this week. Here’s a quick run-down on the most important parts of tonight’s release:

  • You can now use the + and - keys to jump to the next or previous sequence in the cue list—handy if your director stops you and you want to quickly jump back to the top of the sequence, for example.
  • The Inspector and Playback Controls windows no longer float over everything. This change had been requested frequently by users with smaller screens, and it really helps when manipulating a workspace…even on larger screens.
  • QLab Pro can now be controlled by MIDI Show Control commands. It offers fairly basic support at this point—it ignores Q numbers and Q paths and other such parameters, but the basic commands are now available. GO triggers the current cue. TIMED_GO acts just like GO. STOP and ALL_OFF pause everything. RESUME and RESTORE cause paused cues to begin playing again. STANDBY_+ and STANDBY_- move to the next cue or previous cue and load it. SEQUENCE_+ and SEQUENCE_- move to the next or previous sequence and load it.
  • QLab Pro has two new cues: Reset and Load.

The documentation is lagging behind the updates these days, but I’ll get to that as soon as I can. I’m guessing the next release will be focused on the documentation, and after that we may be looking at the final 1.0. It’ll take a little time to set up and test the online store, but hopefully that won’t be a huge hurdle.
