Philip Barrett recently sent in this photo, writing to say:

Much excitement about QLab from my Beijing & Singapore crew, especially as they are mostly MacBook users.

This was then followed by a kind message from Jimmy Cheong, who wrote to say:

Hi,
I’m Jimmy Cheong, I work as a mixer and system engineer from a singapore AV rental company. I was lucky enough get to meet Philip Barrett an audio engineer from the U.S. We have been doing a corporate event together in Shanghai and he was using QLab to manage all playback audio. I am so surprised with what QLab can do. Philip helped me download the basic version of QLab onto my MacBook and I have been using it for one of the corporate shows in Kuala Lumpur. The result is good…even the client is surprised how I can run the walk up track and voice-over so smooth and make changes of cue so fast. From now on I don’t need to carry 20 pcs of CD for my background music and another 20 pcs for singer…all is in my MacBook and QLab will do the rest. Great software…..amazing software.

    Apologies to some of our more widely spread international users but what Jimmy is illustrating here is the potential for QLab in the world outside the US & Western Europe. In our markets we have many choices, we favorably compare QLab to 360 Systems products, Cricket, ENCO and other solutions. However, in markets such as Jimmy’s these alternative solutions are largely unavailable. The only current option is a stack of CDs & a dual deck (notice the Denon in the picture). QLab’s simplicity, portability, low overhead and it’s ability to run on off the shelf hardware makes it an exciting product for such markets.

    well,thanks philip for intoduce me Qlab.once i use i love it and i will try to make Qlab much more widely use in Singapore or even around S.E.A.CHEERS
