0.9.7 Available

Sunday, August 13th, 2006

QLab development has been clipping along this week. Here’s a quick run-down on the most important parts of tonight’s release:

You can now use the + and - keys to jump to the next or previous sequence in the cue list—handy if your director stops you and you want to quickly jump back to the [...]

QLab Pro 0.9.6 available

Sunday, August 6th, 2006

Believe it or not, it’s finally here. It took a little longer than I had hoped, but the wait is now over.
MIDI Show Control Cues have been added to QLab Pro.
Heck yeah. This calls for celebration. Can I get a little dance?
<shimmy shimmy>
Sweet. Thanks.
Beta testers, go nuts. Let me know [...]

Yes, Virginia, string constants can bring joy

Thursday, August 3rd, 2006

I’m approaching the final major checkpoint between me and QLab Pro version 1.0. Namely, I’m finishing up the MIDI Show Control cues.
This work involves the coolest list of strings I’ve ever had the honor of writing into a piece of code.
It’s hard to explain why this is so thoroughly wonderful. Maybe you have [...]

0.9.532 Available

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

This release focuses on some basic cleanup and a variety of small bug fixes.
The most notable addition this time around is in the QLab Pro demo: I’ve added the ability to fade through certain parameters in some MIDI cues.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, the next release of the QLab Pro demo will include MIDI Show Control commands.

0.9.53 Available

Tonight’s release includes several important bug fixes, as well as one big new addition.
The biggest addition to this version is the ability to build cue sequences that are fired based on an absolute timeline. It has been clear for awhile that this was an important feature, but deciding how to implement it turned out [...]

Apparently, I’m way underpaid.

Thursday, June 15th, 2006

Out of curiosity, I installed David Wheeler’s SLOCCount tool tonight and let it grind away on the QLab source tree. SLOCCount is an application that counts the number of lines of code you’ve written and estimates the number of developers and the length of time it would take to write that code.
I think the [...]

0.9.521 Available (aka: “die, ye dastardly file-dragging bug”)

Sunday, May 28th, 2006

I found and solved the problem that was causing QLab to occasionally crash when new files were dragged onto the workspace. (Ticket #154)
A handful of other bugs have also been fixed in this release. I recommend upgrading.

0.9.512 Available

Sunday, May 14th, 2006

Just in time for Mother’s Day, I’ve got some progress to report on the bug hunt front.
To refresh your memory, a crash had recently been reported on 10.4 that appeared to be related to the earlier crash on 10.3.9. It has been my top priority since then to fix this bug.
I have approached this [...]

0.9.511 Available, and an important warning

Sunday, April 30th, 2006

There are some helpful workflow features added in this version. Cues now have command-key shortcuts to add them to your workspace, and you can reorder the order of the cues in the Qbox by dragging them to new locations.
Important:
Recently a crash occurred when running QLab on 10.4.6 that appears to be the same as [...]

0.9.510 Available

Thursday, April 27th, 2006

My goal in this release was to make crash reports really easy. I’ve only received two crash logs so far, but I rather suspect it has crashed more than twice. I’ve added a feature in this release to make it drop-dead simple to submit crash reports:
If the application crashes, the next time you run [...]
