Fade in/Fade out issues

Reported by: Steven Barkley Assigned to: chris
Priority: high Component: QLab
Keywords: Fade Cc: sbarkley@mac.com

Description

When I start a show with a fade in, it either starts at full volume, or fades the song out. Is there a way to add a button to the fade cue that will identify it as either a fade in or a fade out? On the opening fade, it seems that it either starts at full volume, or fades out, and I can't understand how to communicate to the program what I want.

Hi Steven,

It sounds like you may need to set your "Levels & Channels" of the Fade Cue. If you click on that tab in the inspector you can set the final volumes for each channel to whatever you wish. By default you'll see that a Fade Cue fades the master channel to silence, but you can activate other channels by clicking on them and then you can adjust their final volume.

The other part of the setup is that you must set what volumes your sound starts at. You can do this with the "Inital Fade Levels". So if you wish to do a fade-in, set your initial fade levels to silence, and then use an absolute fade cue to adjust them up.

Let me know if that makes sense.

Thanks!
